“I offered two successive yoga retreats using Araminta´s Sanctuary as the yoga practice space. It was wonderful! The views are spellbinding, the space is fragrant with flowers and banana leaves, there is a clean bathroom on site, the possibility of superfood smoothies post-practice, AND a Temescal (Traditional Mayan) sauna. It was exactly what I hoped to offer my retreat participants– ease, but also a strong sense of Guatemala. It was wonderful to incorporate local food and practices like the Temescal sauna with yoga asana and meditation. Furthermore, Araminta was really communicative and forthcoming. Retreats require plenty of logistics. Araminta was a dream to work with!” – Maiga Milbournehttp://maigamilbourne.com/

“Perfect view on the lake and the volcanoes, awesome staff and incredible experience. I’ll sure rent again in that paradise. Thank you so much” – Melanie Deaigneault

“We hosted a 4-day workshop on Tantric Rituals at the Sanctuary and felt it was the perfect space for it. The size, atmosphere, view and privacy were perfect for our purposes and we felt well taken care of.” Arpita & Arjuna, YogaRetreatGuatemala.com

“We held our wedding celebration for the community where we live at The Sanctuary. The white buildings, beautiful flower-garden and spectacular view on Lake Atitlan is already a romantic place to be, with christmas lights, candles and white flowers we changed the Sanctuary into our own space. We shared food, drinks and conversations, when DJ Duncan joined us with 1940s music. Turning up to some more funky grooves our night turned into an even more happier event and we danced with young and old for some hours. We lit a few wishing balloons to close this beautiful, warm and loving celebration of our new married life. Thánk you, Araminta, for hosting us!” – Lucie & Diego, 2015

“It was a true delight to host my courses at The Sanctuary. It is the perfect venue. It is stunningly beautiful, comfortable, and easy to get to, not to mention the amazing views of the lake! Araminta’s love is poured into each corner and everyone who works there is very helpful and friendly. Can’t wait to be back with the Maya Abdominal Courses next high season!” – Maria Gobbato – Sobada Maya Abdominal Massage

“The Sanctuary Guatemala is indeed a sanctuary for body and soul. With probably one of the best views of any of the places in San Marcos to stay or attend workshops, it also offers a very high standard of ambience and sophistication. The facilities – kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms are all pristine and stylish. It also has a wonderful sauna to complete the luxury. I would recommend The Sanctuary to any person looking for a divinely inspired living space or if you want to offer, co-create or attend a conscious gathering.” – Zendrik Van Der Merwe

It is essential for me to find the right space to hold my Qoya classes. Qoya is a practice for woman that combines, community, feminine movement and yoga. I create a space where women feel safe to express themselves physically and emotionally. The Sanctuary was the perfect place, a beautiful open and spacious area, surrounded by gorgeous lush gardens, amazing views of the lake and the stunning majestic volcanos. Following our class we took the opportunity to enjoy a sweat lodge and showering under the stars. Thank you Araminta for creating such a beautiful Sanctuary.” – Nikki Lane

“It’s been a huge blessing holding our Sound Healing Ceremonies at The Sanctuary. Araminta created a beautiful sacred space that is an ideal for workshops and gatherings, and the views of Lake Atitlan are breathtaking.” – Chris Eagle, 2014

“Araminta’s retreat space on Lake Atitlan in Guatemala is simply paradise. An amazing space with even more amazing views, you feel both at home and in heaven at the same time. Plenty of open roof top terraces to relax in hammocks or watch the sunset over volcanoes and be grateful to be alive. Modern facilities tastefully decorated, there isn’t a better place to stay on the lake.”  – Tracy Wares – filmmaker: www.tracywares.com

“The Sanctuary is magical and mystical gone luxurious. I couldn’t imagine a more inspiring place to host our writing workshop. A volcano meets your eye and the Lake Atitlan wraps around you, pulsing with perspective and creative energy. The comfort of the space, full of color and giant cushions, asks you to open your heart and linger. A breeze blows by, and you know poetry is born here.” Aimee Hansen

“The view is so gorgeous in the workshop space that the birds, mountains and lake always caught my attention as the dream unfolded.” AK

“I had the privilege of staying at the Sanctuary on multiple occasions. I have stayed in both guest rooms and master suite, and all were different and experiences. From the moment you walk into the Sanctuary you are transported into your own little Eden. Multi-layered property, with great space organization. 2 highlights, 1) the Temescal / Sauna. It really grounds you and gives you the luxury of feeling the volcanic land. Cozy layout and outdoor shower! 2) the spacious workshop room / event space. Everything you need to host a group experience. It has really offered me a space of refuge, recharge, and revitalization.” – Frank Mondeosewww.frankmondeose.com

“I stayed at Araminta’s beautiful house in December 2013 and ran an evening event talk there. What a joy. Both Araminta and her house were a dream come true. The house is in the perfect position set on the lake with amazing views of the volcano, its so close you can almost touch it. The house is just a couple of minutes walk from the centre of town which is really handy. But even though its so close you would not notice in the house as its so quiet and private. Araminta was very helpful and lovely, she has a sweet heart and know lots about the town and culture. I highly recommend… Love to all.” Andrew Barnes – www.awakeningwithin.com.au

“This is a beautiful place with breathtaking views. The house is less than 5 minutes from the center of town – a great location. There is a full-time worker that provides help and security. It is a great place to stay. One of the nicer houses that is close to town with all the conveniences of first world living. And the best part is eating right from the terrace garden.” – Daisy Schlackman

“My partner and I stayed at the Sanctuary for a couple of nights and it was absolutely magical. It is like staying in a mediterranean villa on the coast with the views and the flowers and the vibe is so much different and more peaceful here then in San Marcos. It is so cozy that you really don’t want to go anywhere which was fine for us as we had been a couple of times to the area already and were really needing some relax time. It is easy walking distance to all restaurants and the ferries.” – Amy Johnson

“I recently had the opportunity to stay at the Sanctuary for a month leading Yoga Juice Cleanse retreats. What a sublime & serene place to stay in! Upon entering the Sanctuary you are greeted with a 200 degree view of Lake Atitlan and the most prominent volcano San Pedro. Walking down the path you are surrounded by banana trees, a jungle of green leafs and colorful flowers everywhere. Having lead retreats at several centers around the lake, the Sanctuary was an excellent choice. Running retreats, it is convenient to have everything in one location with the flexibility to move according to the timing of the group. The Sanctuary provides the possibility to rent two luxurious full bedrooms w/ private bathrooms, a large kitchen with filtered water and everything you need including a pizza oven, dining area, sauna, guest toilet and a large workshop space with a stunning view of the lake. More than that my students felt embraced and supported by the energy of the herbal garden, birds, and aloe vera that we used for the sauna! One of my students commented on how many diverse birds were present in one location. Another student mentioned how there was such a nice energy about the Sanctuary. During meditation students had the opportunity to close their ears with a piece of fresh cotton from the tree just behind the workshop space! The Sanctuary is very conveniently located just a few minutes walk from the center. This is ideal as it is quieter and yet provides the opportunity for students to visit the town center. Moreover, it provides tourists already passing through San Marcos La Laguna the opportunity to join in the retreat. The Sanctuary was well tended to by their very friendly gardener Roberto, Manager Tim and Elvira who cleans the space every week. Araminta was very considerate and supportive in helping prepare for the retreats and even posted the Yoga Juice Cleanse Series on her website. I highly recommend working with Araminta to create the retreat space you need for your group as well staying at this very special home!! With the amount of consideration that Araminta has taken to ensure high satisfaction, I’m sure she would take very good care of your home as well.” Xihuitl Juliette Salas (2015)
